A Greenup woman has sadly been injured in a recent car crash. The motor vehicle accident took place on a Wednesday morning. These kinds of crashes can easily happen as a result of a driver’s carelessness, in which case the reportedly at-fault driver might be held liable for any injuries resulting from the wreck.

How the car crash occurred

The unfortunate incident occurred at about 10:50 a.m. According to authorities, a 27-year-old woman was driving an SUV along Illinois Route 130. All of a sudden, a construction worker allegedly stopped the woman.

Police said at that time, a 71-year-old woman driving another SUV pulled up behind the first SUV. Unfortunately, a 28-year-old woman driving a third SUV reportedly ended up rear-ending the second SUV, causing it to strike the first SUV. The driver of the second SUV suffered injuries in the crash and was therefore transported to a medical center, where her injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. The driver of the third SUV received a citation for not slowing down to avoid the crash.

How an attorney can help in the aftermath of these incidents

The woman who was injured in the Illinois crash may decide to file a personal injury claim against the driver who caused the crash, seeking damages. Liability needs to be established before the civil court hearing the case before her claim will be decided. If she is successful in the claim, she may receive monetary damages to cover her hospital bills and any other accident-related losses.
