A teenage girl’s life has sadly been lost in a tragic car wreck in Illinois. In addition, four adults have been injured in the collision. The recent accident took place early in the morning on a Sunday.
Events leading up to the wreck
The unfortunate incident occurred at around 2:40 a.m. According to authorities, two cars were traveling along the Eisenhower Expressway portion of Interstate 290. Police said they then collided with each other.
A 14-year-old girl suffered injuries in the collision and was taken to a medical center. Sadly, she ended up passing away in the crash on the Tuesday afternoon following the crash. Four adults also suffered injuries in the automobile accident, with three of their injuries being deemed serious.
How an attorney can help victims of these situations
Authorities may determine through their investigation which driver caused the Illinois accident to negligent driving, such as driving too quickly for road conditions. In this situation, the injured adults may choose to file personal injury claims against this driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained. Likewise, the surviving loved ones of the teenager who died in the wreck might decide to file a wrongful death claim against this driver. If the plaintiffs are successful in their suits, they may receive financial damages to cover medical bills, hospital bills and other losses related to the fatal accident. Although the monetary damage awards cannot undo the events leading up to the accident, they may help the affected parties to experience a sense of justice following the accident.
